Being a Cowgirl Chick has helped me discover who I am and what I stand for. I love the fact that we not only get to do what we love but that we get to do it for such admirable causes. It is only because of the tremendous sacrifices of our military that are we free to do what we love. Riding in tribute to them is such a small way for us to show them how much we appreciate what they do, but it is an honor I take great pleasure in.
Unlike the military, where members willfully choose to join, cancer doesn’t offer people a choice. While cancer has touched everyone’s life at one time or another, being able to give someone hope or simply put a smile on their face because they know someone cares and is cheering them on is such a privilege. Being part of a group that honors our military and strives to make other’s lives better is a great feeling. For me being a Cowgirl chick has helped me become the person I am today and because of that I thank God every day.
